A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT WONDER
Every angler started with a question.
Here are a few answers to get you going.
Absolutely. Learn to Fish: Fishing Basics is designed for adult beginners and people with a little experience. We start with the basic parts of a rod and reel, explain unfamiliar words, and help you build your understanding one small step at a time.
The app has learning paths for lakes, rivers and the sea, from shore or from a boat, using bait or lures. There is also a separate river, shore and fly-fishing path. You choose your context, and the app helps you find the relevant lessons.
You can start exploring the basic lessons without buying gear. When a lesson includes hands-on practice, the app tells you which equipment you need. Watching and practising are separate, so you can learn first and try it with your own gear when you’re ready.
Lessons, illustrations and learning progress are stored on your device. Subscription content is available offline while your verified subscription access remains valid. An internet connection is needed for purchases and access verification.
Five introductory lessons will be free: four standard rod foundations and the first fly-rod lesson. The rest of the curriculum will be available with a weekly or yearly subscription. Local prices will be shown in the app before you purchase.
Learn to Fish: Fishing Basics is being prepared for iOS and Android. We’ll add the official App Store and Google Play links here when it launches. There isn’t a confirmed release date yet.
